GMG Design is familiar with all levels of store design and manufacturing.  We also understand that everyone has a budget that they must work with to achieve the new or remodel store packages.

Our fees are based on the total Scope Of Services that we agree are required to complete your project.  That scope can be a few fixtures or the entire store.

We have two levels of design visions.  They are Low To Moderate Budget Design and Moderate To High Budget Design.

Low To Moderate Store Design Package:

Design Fees - $1,750.00 - $3,500.00

Square footage cost estimate - Starting at $20.00/sq. ft. (new store)

We deal daily with smaller specialty retailer projects that have lower budget allocations.  We are very familiar with these types or projects.  To achieve the interior package, we will use some basic standard design components that best control the overall costs.

These stores always look great based on the expertise of the professional design team at GMG.

We design to use a general contractor at a minimum to avoid his fees, do not include any travel to the site but comfortably deliver a wonderful end result.

Scope of Services Included:

• Interior design and merchandising adjacencies

• Traffic flow patterns

• Focal point determination on walls and floor

• Fixture designs – (Standard / catalog)

• All finishes and materials

• Minimum lighting package

• Logo and interior signage comments

• Provide competitive pricing on all specified items

• Discussion with contractors and owner start to finish.  

New construction needs are kept to a minimum but as with all projects, if you require architectural sealed plans we can deliver nationwide.

Below are a few design packages that you can choose from to get the design direction started.  Of course you can have any finishes desired.  We simply show these options so you understand that there will be multiple colors and finishes involved.

All of these options are mix-and-match designs.

Freestanding floor displays, seating and signage would be complimentary to the wall fixture designs and finishes.

Design Fees

Package 1 - $3,500.00 - $7,500.00 based on size (up to 3,500 sq. ft.) and scope

     Some basic with customization

Package 2 - High Design - 10%-15% of total budget (typically 2,500+ sq. ft.)

     Mostly customized for best image and support of merchandise price points

Square footage cost estimate $30.00-$50.00/sq. ft. (new store)

Scope of Services Included:

• Image determination

• Budget analysis and prioritization

• Construction and project schedule

• Space allocation for sales and stock (New wall construction and demolition plans)

• Interior design and merchandising adjacencies

• Traffic flow patterns (Fixture floor plan and floor covering plans)

• Focal point determination on walls and floor

• Custom Fixture designs (Interior wall elevations and cut sheets)

• All finishes and materials specifications and samples (Sample boards)

• Maximum lighting package (Reflected ceiling and Lighting plan - General illumination, Accent and Task)

• Logo review for application and interior signage determination for lifestyle or brands

• Visual merchandising package proposals

• Provide competitive pricing on all specified items

• Discussion with contractors and owner start to finish.

• Site visit(s) as determined by final budget and project needs

We can deliver in a short period of time (4-6 weeks) or a standard 9-12 weeks.  Just let us know what best applies to your specific situation.

How can I get started with GMG Design?

Visit the website, complete the Potential New Customer Checklist, and we will respond quickly with a Design Services Proposal.  There is no cost or obligation for the proposal.  It simply and clearly defines all scopes and services that you require and we commit to delivering.

While many new clients wait until they have a signed lease in hand, the design process can start earlier.  Any design package can be fitted to any space when properly approached.

Since we are a full architectural design firm, we can take the store project from a soil floor to completion.  The "White Box" as it is so often referred to doesn't have to be completed if in fact you have arranged in your lease to be responsible for a part of that in the project.

GMG Design can deliver full construction plan sets to meet the codes and permit approvals nationwide and do so on a regular basis.

It is not necessary to travel to the site specific to design and determine project needs.  With all our years of experience we understand the needs from scaled plans and pictures.  Besides, travel adds to the project costs.  We would rather you spend your money where the customer gives you credit - in the store!
